One of my hobbies is mycology which is the technical name for the study of fungi, toadstools and mushrooms. Mushrooms and toadstools are the actual fruiting bodies of the fungi and therefore only appear at certain times of the year. These interesting organisms belong to their own group of living things and grow in many shapes, sizes, forms, structures, colours and many other criteria. Therefore they make a very interesting subject to photograph. The main technique involved is macro photography as many of the specimens encountered are very small in size. The images are best presented in a clean format so as not to distract from the beauty that the fungus presents.
