Probably the most simple form of camera is a pinhole one. Instead of a glass or plastic lens used to take the image, a small hole is used within a light proof box to capture a photograph onto film. Due to the simple design of such a camera some skill is required in capturing an image. Often with pinhole images the focus point is central to the image and then falls away becoming more blurred and eventually fades out. I have reproduced this look in the pictures below.
